    Parking Lot Murals (part one)

One of the first projects I was able to work on since being back at Twin Gables was the parking lot murals. It was SO cold outside, so I had to bundle up! Check out my behind the scenes video for the murals in this video on my TikTok & follow along for more process videos. P R O C E S S Let me tell you, PREP WAS EVERYTHING before painting on the parking space! The ground was covered in so much mud and dirt, so I hosed down everything and brushed away the muck three times over

Groovy in Amethyst by Merging Metals

Groovy vibes featuring this stunning statement piece by Merging Metals! This funky statement piece features a huge Amethyst chunk inset with a shiny piece of labradorite, two of my favorite crystals! I spent one of my days off movin' and goovin' in my bell bottom jeans, playing stevie nicks, and getting into some serious Woodstock vibes for this photoshoot. I can’t tell you enough how cool this piece feels in your hands... like a sorcerers stone! Shop small and check out the

    UPCYCLED VINTAGE SUITCASE

Just a girl with her hat & suitcase, ready to take on the world! As many of you may know (or not know), I’ve officially decided to leave New Jersey for the time being and travel abroad! I will be spending the summer in the UK doing Work Away. Currently my travel plans include a stay mainly in Wincanton, the south of London, but I'm also interested in traveling to London, Oxford (hopefully visiting Annie Sloan's Studio), traveling on the coast, and possibly taking the undergro

Coincidentally, Azie had wanted to paint a huge orange butterfly on a dresser in the shop, and kindly asked me to do it! In addition to our early spring window display I painted a collection

    A WEDDING IN BROOKLYN

This past week I had the pleasure of designing the guest book for my brother and his (now wife, ee!) Lindsay’s wedding. It was such an incredibly heartfelt and artistic ceremony, and a weekend filled with such laughter and joy! The spine design is based subtly on their love of Peter Pan and the second star to the right, while incorporating their wedding flowers and vintage style. The ceremony was absolutely sweet and artistic, and managed to have everyone in tears by the end

PEN & INK: OUTTAKES FROM MY SKETCHBOOK 2018

My sketchbook is always something I have on me, whether it's to jot down an idea for a future project, write a quote I love, or sketch people and things passing by. Often I use pen and ink, as I love the idea of the permanent mark capturing a fleeting moment. Maybe this is something I would consider a 'butterfly sketch'- something quick and with strong gesture, capturing a passing second or feeling. Occasionally I use pencil or paint in this journal, but mostly I stick to wha

    HEART & HAND: EMBROIDERED JOURNALS

On my jean jacket, there is an adorable patch that I had gotten from Anthropologie that had come on a cute card. Combined with my love for hands and the ability they have to create, the two inspired me to make a collection of journals featuring that idea. Hand embroidered spines are a often used as a signature for my brand that I've recently been pushing my own boundaries on to create more illustrative journal spines. Below is a collection of photographs featuring the collect

    RAINBOW SPINE TINY BOOK

Inspired by the color and light I've seen in my life recently, I decided to dedicate a post to a small, but bright, tiny book collection. Each journal is slightly different in pages, but is filled with colored & patterned pages, toned paper, and white paper. The journals are hand bound in vegan leather, adorned with a vintage button closure & tie. Currently there are two of these little journals in the Etsy shop, and are the perfect size to keep in a purse for ideas and thoug

    RAINBOW INSPIRATION

As the dreary late-winter drones on, I've been finding such colorful inspiration all around me. From the rainbow color wheel for Annie Sloan Chalk Paint at work to the prisma colored filter on the windows and the colorful sunsets, there hasn't seemed to be a lack in color and inspiration. Below features a collection of personal photographs throughout the town of Montclair, NJ as well as a couple of projects I got to work on at {Verdigreen}. As I failed to take any 'before' pi

    A GOLDEN NEW YEARS

New Years, 2019 Sparkling champagne and glimmering dresses is how two old friends brought in the new years, getting ready for the evening in old Hollywoodesque glamor. The evening consisted of our fancy outing, dinner with magical lights and adventures throughout the city. Below features a collection of a fun photoshoot we did on new years eve, filled with thrifted outfits, fantastical makeup, and an end game of movies, ice cream and wine. HOLIDAYS & HANDMADE GIFTS

As we come around to the holiday season, everyone is making their lists and checking them twice, trying to buy the perfect gifts for their loved ones. Consistently each year, I try and make something for each intended gift-receiver (either rather than or in addition to a 'store bought gift'). Personally, I adore both giving and getting gifts-I absolutely love the process of making gifts special for each individual, making all the details personal. This post features a collect

    VINTAGE PAPERS & KETTLE STITCHES

As an artist, I love creating things that are new and original, whether it's drawings, patterns, and paintings; while this is true, I also am an avid lover of all things ephemera (anything nostalgic, vintage, or things that lived a short while in their artistic sense). Despite the title not all these papers are truly vintage (the butterfly and the marble - felt like I had to get that out there), although I did feel they had a sensibility that fit with the collection. STORM KING ART CENTER

To quote the center's page, "Storm King Art Center nurtures a vibrant bond between art, nature, and people, creating a place where discovery is limitless." On the most golden of fall days, my roommates and I took a trip to Storm King Art Center in upper New York. The drive on the way there was one of magic- the trees had already turned their most brilliant colors, decorating the sky with the most radiant color and light. Upon arriving you could see the pathway beginnings, onl

    PUMPKIN PATCH

Down on South Fullerton at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Montclair NJ is the annual pumpkin patch where you can pay by donation to the church yard, pick out a pumpkin, and take it home! I walked over the other day and left with my perfectly adorable pumpkin, that I'm already planning on carving! This year I've been thinking of carving either a haunted house or a silhouetted witch on a broomstick... or maybe a spooky cat with a *witch* hat (sans the dr. suess reference). The

    MAGIC POTION NOTEBOOK BUNDLES!

Magic Potion Notebook Bundles! I always carry small notebooks in my bags- whether I throw them into my purse, shove them into my wallet, or put one in my pocket, I always make sure I have a pad of paper to write on. Often I get bored on the train and like to doodle, play Mash or Hangman with friends, write down grocery lists or collect someone's contact info. Of course you could always do this on your phone, but I find something so comforting about physically scribbling down

    A TRIP TO BRIDGEMAN, MI

Collection No.1 A Trip to Bridgeman, MI About a week ago I was fortunate enough to visit my grandparents at their home in Bridgeman, Mi- a quaint little town located near the coast of Lake Michigan and St. Joe, the 'larger' of the small towns in the area. My entire immediate family was able to meet up there (all eight of us), along with some aunts, uncles, and cousins. I was so ecstatically happy to be on the shore of the inland sea on which I grew up- to quote a song (from t
